I was just wondering why the jail trail gets closed to bikes in the winter? Bikes cant really hurt the little bit of the ski trail that intersects the bike trail anymore than would snow shoes.
And yes i know plumb creek is open all year but it gets no traffic from snow shoes to pack it down. Just wondering, thanks

Tdog,
I understand your frustration of not being able to ride the N. Loop in the winter. It is what the MMCC agreed to with the Nordic Ski Club when we gained permission to build the trails. There are many reasons and it's probably all debatable but it's easiest to just close them to bikes in the winter.
Sorry.
Maybe you can try to get a group of people to pack down the Plum Creek Trails and then advertise here that you did and many people will probably help keep it packed down this winter. I was down there this week to check out the Plum Creek trails and it looks like sections were hiked on just not the whole loop.
